# Input plugins

Senseforce Edge comes with eight available input plugins

| SQL | Connects to and reads Microsoft SQL Servers >= 2008, Oracle or SAP Hana. Allows to continually read historical as well as new data. Uses polling and remembers which row was the last read. |
| ---------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| SQLite | Connects to and reads from SQLite databases. Allows to continually read historical as well as new data. Uses polling and remembers which row was the last read. |
| OPCUA | Subscribes to an OPC UA server using the opc.tcp protocol. Notification-based message transmission is used to only transmit changes in data. |
| REST | Call a remote REST endpoint to get data. Is implemented to poll data and remembers the last read message. |
| TCP | Sets up a TCP-socket based listener, allowing to wait for incoming messages |
| XML file parsing | Continually reads XML files and parses their content. Remembers the last read XML file, therefore can be used to read continuously generated files. |
| SINUMERIK | Connects to SIEMENS SINUMERIK systems and can read data and Alarms from the SINUMERIKs PLC as well as NCK controller |
| Heidenhain | Connects to Heidenhain PLCs which support the DNC communication protocol. It can read Errors as well as data from the Heidenhain COM structures and memory areas. |
